It will never cease to amaze me just how much the first minority President has unhinged a segment of the population. It's just crazy.

systemically weakening America so that he could ultimately position himself to take over the entire world

How, exactly, does that work?

It must be some of that Sooper Seekrit Mooslim Overlord mojo that these people think Obama has. He can just wave a hand, weaken this country and somehow still manage to take over the rest of the world. He's crafty like that. ///

It doesn't have to make sense. It just has to scare the right people into voting against their own interests out of fear.

I genuinely think that what we're seeing is pandering to the End Times crowd here. See, if Obama is the anti-christ, he has to set up a one world government. At least, so the Left Behind freaks (Tim LaHaye, Jerry Jenkins, et al) claim.

How this would be done is never explained, anymore than they bother to explain how he'd set up a oneworld currency either. All that matters is that the right people hear it. Not so much a dogwhistle as the sound of the seventh vial opening.

Ah, I see. Satans hand at work.

At the End of TImes, everyone will dance the Schmeerskahoven.

Awesome. Never saw that before. "Afterwards, we can lick the floor til it's all shiny!"
BTW, thanks for posting that pandagon link yesterday-- loved the rant against that Ladies Night schmuck. Also, do you read slacktivist? He's been dissecting the Left Behind books for over a year-- we read a lot of the same things, I think, -- if you aren't already reading him I think you'd love him.

Director of Cultural Affairs? That sounds like a government department that one would find in the People's Republic of China. There is no irony there since Liberty Council and the far-right share a great deal with fascist ideologies. That's the irony. That the so called post-modern anti-Communists in the USA are fascists.

Here's the skinny on Matt Barber from Source Watch:

Excerpt:

J. Matt Barber is an associate dean at Liberty University School of Law -- a law school founded by Rev. Jerry Falwell -- and director of cultural affairs with the school's conservative legal action group, Liberty Counsel.[2] He was previously policy director for cultural issues at Concerned Women for America. He is former corporate outreach director and current board member of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality. Barber holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy degree from Regent University, as well as a law degree.

Otherwise this is more in the line of right wing paranoia from another Bible thumping homophobic twit.

That episode or Pinky and The Brain in general? I highly recommend the box set of DVD's. It can be pretty subversive. The 3 part episode with the Scmedawhatever rolls up the Clinton presidency, The Prisoner TV series, The Island of Dr. Moreau and Abba all in one, big sausage.

Entertainment!

While the Left has mostly given up on the "Obama 11-Dimensional Chess" meme, it's still going stronger than ever on the Right, though with the improbability of many of their conspiracy theories maybe it's now, at least, 111-Dimensional Chess.

They're basically the mediocrities of the white population; why else do they hate Ivy League schools so much? When you are of mediocre intellect, you have little but blood and soil nationalism to make you feel better about your miserable life, and that's what's going on here.

Ah yes, the old to stupid to fix the economy, but brilliant at world conquest.

I want some of that acid.

Great show. The Warner Brothers animated shows the premiered in the 90's don't get enough recognition. They were very good, even though they were consciously a bit derivative.
